Breakfast, Lunch And Dinner (plus treats and drinks) In Catalina

Of course Catalina Island boasts exceptional natural beauty and vibrant animal life, but one of the shining features of this gem in the sea are the wonderful restaurants, delis and shops to stop in for a bite to eat or a scrumptious snack. Even if you have only one day, you can eat and drink to your heart’s content. Whatever your plans and tastes, we can point you in the right direction – or even take you right there on one of our many tours. Here are our recommendations you definitely don’t want to miss.

You’ve got a lot ahead of you today. A hearty breakfast is in order to help get you on your way. We recommend popping into Original Jack’s Country Kitchen. Don’t miss the shrimp benedict or the Portuguese sweet bread French Toast.

High above Avalon sits the Airport In The Sky, and the world-famous Our Skyline Drive tour takes you for a bird’s eye view of Catalina and the vast blue Pacific. Try the buffalo burger to refuel after the 2.5 hour exploration.

Treat your sweet tooth with some truly wonderful delectable fudge, ice cream, and/or salt water taffy at Lloyd's of Avalon Confectionery. It’s the perfect indulgence to the perfect vacation. You can also take some home as a gift, or to keep for yourself.

Happy Hour

Now that you’re freshly tanned and a little tired, you’ll certainly want to head to Luau Larry’s tiki bar. Hey, you’re on an island after all. Get the night started with a Wiki Wacker (light rum, brandy, pineapple juice, orange juice, and a splash or two of grenadine) and some coconut shrimp appetizers. Straw hats highly recommended.

Evening is setting in, and what a romantic one it’s going to be. If you’ve found yourself at Steve’s Steakhouse, you’re in good shape. Or maybe you’re not, if you’ve had a few house martinis before a scrumptious steak, cooked to perfection. Finish up with a Buffalo Milk frozen cocktail, the signature Catalina staple blending vodka, crème de cacao, crème de banana, Kahlua and half-and-half in a tasty mélange that goes perfectly with the Key Lime pie.
